11/9/2008 : Strafford County Stays Bright Blue: 2008 Election Results
New Hampshire Democrats did it again Nov. 4, turning out in record numbers to elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot! We delivered the state’s electoral votes to President-elect Obama, re-elected Gov. Lynch and both incumbent members of Congress and elected our first Democratic senator in more than two decades. Democrats held on to the House, Senate and Executive Council in Concord and picked up county offices around the state.

Strafford County, as always, led the way! The Obama-Biden ticket carried the county by nearly 13,000 votes. We provided nearly a quarter of Jeanne Shaheen’s statewide margin in her Senate victory. Carol Shea-Porter and John Lynch won by wide margins. We elected 32 of 37 House members and captured three State Senate seats while maintaining Democartic control of county offices.

Strong candidates, good policies and hundreds of dedicated volunteers kept the county and the state on the right path and will bring a new direction to the nation!
